We had a birthday party for my mother. She transitioned when I was 22. I have needed to find strength in this terrible loss. She taught me the value of manners, resilience, self advocacy, and community building. She taught me that good music and good food are excellent investments and they both can raise the quality of our lives. Grief and gratitude sound like this... But you don't have to take my word for it... Reading is fundamental.
